I set out below some of my recommendations for good food and drink near to my 'Pads'. These are places that I have either visited myself or that have been recommended by my visitors. If you have a bad experience at any of these, do let me know - and if you find a real gem that I haven't listed, please email so that I can add it!

Canada - Blueberry Lake

You simply have to try Restaurant Le Saint-Louis in St. Jovite (1874, chemin du Village, Mt-Tremblant Québec, Canada 819-425-3505). Fantastic selections of wines and foods. There is also a restaurant on site in Blueberry Lake, or the chef will come and prepare a meal in your cabin. The Porritt family who built the resort and live on site, will be happy to recommend any new cullinary delights on arrival.

Canada - Canmore

I cannot tell you how fantastic this fondue restaurant is, you will have to try for yourself. It is the Grizzly House in Banff.

In Canmore, you cannot miss the ‘Oh Canada Eh? Dinner show for those Canadian stereotypes, or catch some great live bands in the Rose and Crown.

Majorca - Andratx and Palma

restaurante la bodeguilla c/ San Jaime, 3 07012 Palma Tel 34 (971) 718 274. A wine merchant and restaurant. Serving elegant, Spanish food - the suckling pig is to die for..... Worth travelling into Palma for. Not particularly cheap, but you would pay twice in the UK for this quality of food. Superb service.

Restaurante Koldo Royo Paseo Marítimo nº 3, Palma Tel: 34 (971) 732 435 >reservas@koldoroyo.com. This is the restaurant of Michelin star chef Koldo Royo. The restaurant on two floors - the upper floor reserved for fine dining whilst the ground floor is a bistro. Koldo also offers fixed price and children's menus.

Wales - Anglesey

Sandy’s in Rhosneigr (High Street Rhosneigr Tel: 01407 811103) offers quality food, right in the heart of the village. I like dining here. Its not too pricey and the service is friendly.
